The Benefits of the U.s. Reel “supercasters” Spinning Reels
You want to try something new in a spinning reel? The U. S. Reel company has invented a superb spinning reel with many features and benefits that can make your fishing experience outstanding! The supercasters wide spool design significantly reduces line twisting which has always been a major draw back of using spinning reels. Looking for a Quality Spinning Reel for big freshwater fish?
Trying to find a quality spinning reel ( or reels ) for the wife capable of handling muskies and Freshwater hybred stripers? All suggestions would be appreciated.
Just to let you know- "Quality" usually means "expensive". (lol)
You'll need to use a Braided line with a heavy Mono or Fluorocarbon leader if you plan to fish for sizable Musky with a Spinning outfit. If you absolutely HATE braided line and want to use a Mono/Fluro, you'll have to bump up the overall size of the spinning reel- 20-25LB Mono/Fluro has a larger diameter requiring a larger spool & line capacity!

UPDATE: P2P- I own 4 Presidents and 3 Supremes. They ARE fantastic reels, (I love mine). But, you need a beefier reel to quickly subdue Musky. Why "quickly"? When a Musky is "over-played" it dies due to a build-up of toxins in it's blood.That's why most Musky fishermen use heavy-action rods & conventional/baitcasters. It's a plain shame to kill a trophy fish because you decided to "skimp" on tackle.....
Plus, when Musky fishing, your typically casting lures 1-3OZ. Even the 40 size President isn't designed to cast that heavy a lure or weight.
Although I would absolutely suggest the President, (and Supreme) for Bass and Walleye- in this case, (Musky & Hybrid Striper), a larger arbor spool with a saltwater-grade, HEAVY-DUTY, drag system would be a better bet- The Spheros.
